The Budi Ikat Table Runner showcases the intricate artistry of traditional Indonesian weaving. Crafted using the ikat technique, threads are carefully dyed before weaving, creating distinctive, blurred patterns that reflect skilled craftsmanship. Also featured is a brocade pattern running between panels of ikat, which is woven into the piece simultaneously in what is known as a supplementary weft-weaving technique. This hand-loomed piece combines cultural heritage with functional elegance, adding a unique, textured accent to your dining space.
In the Biboki Indigenous community, weaving has long been more than an art—it is a sacred tradition, a vital livelihood, and a powerful expression of identity. Upholding this legacy is Maria Imakulata Maneak, leader of the Kelompok Usapi weaving group in Tunbaen Village, Indonesia. Comprising nine weavers, Kelompok Usapi is devoted to safeguarding the Biboki ikat tradition and ensuring its transmission to younger generations.
