Injiri Ahir Shawl
A lightweight, hand loomed throw featuring a neutral ground with multi-colored stripes in blue tones with pops of red. The perfect summer layering piece for your home!
This collection is named after the Aheer clan of Kachchh. Injiri keeps alive the confident and vibrant use of colours in its very own Ahir.
Injiri, meaning “real India”, historically stands for “real Madras checkered textiles” which were exported to West Africa back in the 18th century. India, across her length and breadth, has been the land of extraordinary handwoven fabric of multifarious styles, colours, textures and unique features, pertaining to the specific region they are grown and spun in. Today, Injiri celebrates heritage craft by showcasing several hand crafted techniques including handloom, bandana, ikkat, extra weft, and clamp dye.
