A custom piece from our collaboration with the Anou Cooperative, a nonprofit that bridges the gap between new markets and Moroccan artisan weavers. Morocco is plagued by unfair labor compensation. Middlemen in major markets profit from the hard work of those in rural areas. Moroccan artisans are paid a meagre 4% of an average sale online or in local markets. The Anou Cooperative is a platform that creates new market opportunities for Moroccan artisans. Peregrin has partnered with Anou to import these products directly from their artisan suppliers in order to provide greater access to the American shopper. Through this, the artisans set their own prices, ensuring fair compensation for their work.
