A feminine two-in-one tea kettle featuring plum blossoms, a symbol of good fortune, in an aged finish.

A conventional iron teapot features an enameled interior, ensuring easy maintenance. However, it does not release iron and thus cannot be relied upon to enhance water quality. On the contrary, the innovative 2-in-1 iron kettle and teapot variant, employing the time-honored Nambu ironware technique known as the kama-yaki method (high-temperature baking treatment), boasts rust resistance and facilitates the elution of iron, thereby promoting an improvement in water quality. This remarkable vessel not only imparts a gentler essence to tea and coffee but also serves as a supplement to the daily iron deficiency. Its compatibility extends beyond gas and open fire usage, encompassing electric heating devices like induction heaters.

Hand forged and finished in Japan. Nambu ironware is specific to the Iwate Prefecture. Production dates back to the 12th century for Buddhist ceremonies and armories. Oitomi Nambu ironware craft has been passed down through generations.

A classic silhouette. 0.5L. Includes inset tea strainer in stainless steel.

Suitable for all stovetops including induction heat.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

When using induction heating, use low to medium heat.
Do not wash with detergent.
Do not wash using a sponge or scrubber.
Wipe off the excess water around the lid and other parts well, as discoloration and rusting can easily occur.
Please note that cooking near this pot may result in oil stains and discoloration due to oil splashes.
If the gas flame reaches the body of the pot, the part is likely to discolor, so be careful not to increase the heat too much.
Used over an open flame, the base will gradually turn white. The surface is coated with an antirust oxide layer using the traditional technique called kama-yaki, but because it is cast iron, rust may occur due to moisture and humidity.
