Shyrdak is a traditional textile from Central Asia, Kazakhstan in this case. Wool is harvested from local sheep and felted by hand, an extensive process traditionally dominated by women. Made in their homes, these pieces provided women with an income while balancing domestic responsibilities.
The ottoman measures 18" wide by 18" tall and features a non-slip base for placement on rugs and hardwood floors. Foam filled - firm yet plush.
