This Momo blanket is a Mayan heritage heirloom. The design is a contemporary take on the traditional Mayan textile. Bold rainbow stripes blend from one to the next due to the nature of the felted wool.
Momo blankets come to us from Momostenango, Guatemala. Located in the Central Highlands, the volcanic environment makes these blankets unique to anywhere else in the world. Woven first, then taken to pools of geothermal heated water. There, these blankets are felted to create a soft, fuzzy finish.
Wool sourced from domestic sheep and dyed in country. A little rough at first, these blankets soften with use.
